Our Story

Roots

We are a group of Christians who live in North Dublin who want those around us to hear the life changing gospel of Jesus. Our roots come from the Baptist church who met in Phibsboro for 100 years, but outgrew this building in the 90s and moved to become Jamestown Road Baptist Church in Finglas. JRBC prayed for many years for there to be new local churches around the Northside spreading the gospel of Jesus in each local community. In late 2018 they encouraged Cormac and Áine Walsh to start to gather the group who became North City Baptist Church.

Development

In October 2022 North City Baptist Church officially became and independent local church. Our church has grown in numbers and maturity over the last few years, and it has been beautiful to see lives being renewed by the gospel, and celebrating this in baptisms, marriages, and the weekly celebration of our Sunday worship. As well as meeting together on Sundays, we meet in local groups during the week to encourage each other to live for Jesus in everyday life and to serve our local areas together.

Vision

We believe that when the people in a local church live lives consistent with the gospel message being preached, it is a powerful and attractive demonstration of the gospel.

We love Northside Dublin, and we want to live lives that bless those around us in the city, obeying Jesus by loving our neighbours and speaking the gospel of how his death and resurrection changes everything.
